The Bureau of Statistics, Guyana's national authority on statistical information, is seeking the next generation of data pioneers. This program is a unique opportunity to gain practical, hands-on experience in data analysis, statistical methodologies, and real-world project work. You won't just learn theory; you will contribute to projects of national importance, from initial data collection in the field to final analysis in the office.
We are looking for students with a strong quantitative background from a wide range of disciplines. Your passion for data is what matters most.
Candidates must have completed at least one year of post-secondary education through one of these routes.
Intensive R Training & Project Immersion
Fieldwork & Hands-On Data Collection
In the first month, you will dive deep into data analysis with R, learning to clean, manipulate, and visualize data. You'll immediately apply these skills to a real project at the Bureau.
The second month takes you out of the office for at least 10 days of essential fieldwork. You'll experience the data collection process firsthand, observing survey methods and ensuring data quality from the source.
