Labour, Social Security and Transport
As the caption states, the subject area comprise of three (3) components. The first component is labour which refers to the level of employment within the public sector (the total number of persons employed by central government and the rest of the public sector).
The second component is social security. This deals with the number of pensioners or persons who have attained the age of 60 years and according to the promulgated pensioners “Acts” had retired from the labour force within the public and private sectors. Information for this component is retrieved from National Insurance Scheme (NIS).
The final component is transportation and refers to statistics on annual registration of new motor vehicles tabulated from data provided by the Guyana Revenue Authority.
